Ankama Games has seen its self-published MMO Dofus secure 100,000 active players in the UK.

French dev sees UK MMO subs soar

The studio launched its game in the UK just a month ago – until then players around the world were logging into international servers. A new explainsion has seen the firm launch in a variety of localised versions of the cartoon-style online adventure as it looks to increase its reach. Globally, the game as three million players.

“This is really an achievement for us.” said Cedric Gerard, international marketing manager of Ankama Games. “The response here in the UK has surpassed all our expectations.”

Last week the company exhibited at the MCM London expo, demonstrating its game to a keen crowd of over 16,000 anime and genre fantasy fans.

“Seeing our fans and also meeting new ones here has shown us that the UK gaming community is really at a turn and has never been so open to new online experiences.”
