Business networking event Game Connection is returning to Asia for the first time in five years, organisers have announced.
The event is set to take place at the Pudong Expo in Shanghai, China, and will bring together developers from all around the world to negotiate business deals for various platforms such as web, mobile, consoles and next-gen systems.
Game Connection Asia will take place between June 28th and 29th.
“For the past few years we have focused on North America and Europe, however with the vast market expansion in Asia, we are excited to once again establish Game Connection in China this year,” said Game Connection CEO Pierre Carde.
“Shanghai is a thriving city, and we look forward to again being the games industry meeting place in the East.”
Organisers for the industry event have also announced the dates for this year’s Game Connection Europe, which will take place in Paris between November 28th and 30th, and will include some “new exclusive tracks”.
“Game connection is the video game business place, in the sense that it’s the place where people can optimise their business connections,” Carde told Develop.
“What we offer is not only a place where people can just network, but we also provide as a backbone to the event a meeting application that helps people optimise their agenda and make sure they meet the people they want or need to meet so that their whole schedule is optimised to avoid any overlaps.
“Our intent is to be very international, and we’re very lucky to have people coming form all over the world to each event.”
Game Connection America had 1,680 attendees from 800 companies do business through a total of 5,527 meetings. Carde said the average deal could be expected to reach around €400,000.
“We know that globally each exhibitor can expect a return investment of around between €800,000 to €1 million, so it’s always worth going to Game Connection,” he said.
