Xloc has unveiled version 4.0 of its popular video game localisation management tool at GDC in San Francisco.
The customisable Xloc 4.0 system includes a number of new features, such as a specially crafted API for seamless integration of developers’ tools and processes, support for over 200 file formats, and a range of enhanced and adaptable asset build features. The new version also boasts increased historical data for translations, and significantly expanded prototype build capabilities.
“Our core focus is to help our customers create high-quality localisations in less time and with lower cost than traditional methods. We continually update our solution to add features and elements that create a more valuable, streamlined and efficient localisation process,” said Mason Deming, co-founder and chief technical officer of Xloc. “We are very excited to share these new capabilities with our current and future clients.”
Speaking to Develop at GDC, co-founder and production consultant Stephanie O’Malley Deming added: "What we really offer is a true boutique service, and we’re proud of that. The fact is that while good localisation is data driven, it’s also very much a creative process, and so there isn’t a simple out of the box localisation management process. What we provide also really supports developer-led in-house localisation, which is something very important today"
