Crytek has released a series of videos to help developers get to grips with CryEngine V.
The toolset was launched at GDC earlier this year with a new ‘pay what you want’ model, making it more affordable than ever for developers. While optimised for virtual reality projects, the high-end game engine can still be used to create titles of any scale.
In the three videos below, devs will learn the basics of manipulate objects within the engine in terms of position, rotation and scale, as well as the three most common types of object snapping and how to group and link objects together.
There are also videos on how to install and launch the engine itself, then how to start a project. Later videos cover custom keybinds, terrain creation, lighting, clouds and more. You can find the full playlist here.
