New initiative hopes to turn concepts into commercial success stories

Giant Interactive launches â??online game incubation programâ??

Chinese online game developer and publisher Giant has established what it has called Win@Giant; an initiative that hopes to facilitate and foster game designs and make them marketable products.

Open to all applicants, the incubation program encourages those with ‘special expertise and innovative talent’ across game design, project management, programming, art and other specialities specifically tailored to online games to present their ideas.

Successful applicants will have access to Giant’s expertise, game engines, payment and back-end systems, as well as the opportunity to harness the publisher-developer’s R&D, sales and marketing channels.

Giant’s chairman and CEO Yuzhu Shi said: "I am excited about the formation of Win@Giant as we aim to attract additional creative and innovative talent. By providing full incubation support so the qualified participants can focus on developing their core ideas while reducing the gestation period.

“We hope these talents will produce additional online game products and genres, broaden our future product pipeline, and diversify our revenue sources. In the long term, the incubation program will benefit both Giant’s R&D efforts and each entrepreneur’s aspirations."
