1,750 game developers worldwide are preparing for the start of the inaugural Global Game Jam event, which challenges teams in over 50 locations across 23 countries to create a game within 48 hours.
Global Game Jam, which strives to showcase creativity and talent on an international platform, will be taking place in the UK at venues in Glasgow, Newport and London. The event is organised by the International Game Developers Association, and kicks off at 5pm on Friday in each territories relevant time zone.
The Glasgow event, sponsored by Realtime Worlds, Firebrand Games and Denki, is being hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University. The university’s School of Engineering and Computing will lead proceedings, bringing together those involved in the games programming, games art and games design courses.
