Following on from the announcement of the winners of the pitch development programme competition, the UK Games Fund has revealed the winning teams from its Tranzfuser talent programme. Tranzfuser focuses on new UK development teams formed of graduates from universities which form the Local Hub Network.
These 18 teams are given £5,000 in funding from the UK government to produce a prototype over the course of the summer, which will then be presented at a showcase event. At the event “selected teams” will be encouraged to pitch for more funding of up to £25,000 from the UK Games Fund to “commercialise their game and launch a company”.
Margot James, Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries had this to say about the programme: “Tranzfuser is not just about giving talented people a shot at turning their dreams into a reality. By benefitting from grants, peer to peer interaction, business experience and the support of our excellent universities and creative agencies, we are investing in the next generation of video game developers and the future of our thriving creative industries.”
