Bethesda confirms PC version of upcoming title to be Steamworks specific

Id’s Rage to be Steamworks PC release

Rage, the id Software developed shooter soon to be published by Bethesda, will be Steamworks-specific on the PC, the later company has confirmed.

The announcement, which was made via Bethesda’s official Twitter feed, left no room for doubt.

Since folks are asking," it said.

"We can confirm that Rage will use Steamworks on PC."

Questions have circulated the PC release of Rage since late 2010, when a placeholder page for the game appeared on the Steam store. At the time Bethesda said that the page was not to be considered as evidence for the game’s final platforms.

A Games for Windows logo later appeared on the Rage website, and at the time of writing was still there.
