Improbable partnering with Darewise Entertainment to explore possibilities of SpatialOS

London-based server technology company Improbable has announced a partnership with Darewise Entertainment, which will explore the possibilities of SpatialOS as it develops a new project. The studio is made up of developers who have worked across huge established series, including Assassin’s Creed, Half-Life, Doom and Halo. It is currently working on an Early Access title, Rokh, but will be exploring new projects that take full advantage of Improbable’s SpatialOS technology.

“The creative partnership of Randy and Viktor, and the talent supporting their vision at Darewise, is tremendously exciting,” says Bill Roper, CCO of Improbable. “We’re looking forward to seeing how SpatialOS could inform and enable their vision, and to learning more about how to improve our technology and workflows to better support innovative studios like Darewise.”

Darewise Entertainment’s design director Randy Smith is also excited about the partnership: “We at Darewise are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of online gaming experiences, and we are very excited to explore the possibilities of a new type of virtual world, with richer simulations and meaningful persistence that are only possible thanks to SpatialOS.”

The studio is heavily recruiting, with many open positions listed on its website, so if you’re interested in working with some of the best in the industry and exploring the limits of persistent online worlds, you know what to do.
