Intel and Unity have opened up new possibilities to Android application developers by adding support for all Intel processors to the game engine. This means that developers using the Unity platform can now bring native Android games and mobile apps to devices with any existing or future Intel processor families, including Intel Core and Intel Atom.
Unity, the most popular game engine around with 2.9 million users, now delivers native Android support for Intel architecture in Unity 4.x and Unity 5, as well as access to unique Intel graphics features and Intel’s new CPU instructions and threading support. All future Intel product enhancements will be available to this massive developer base, including updated graphics performance.
Developers using Unity have already enjoyed x86 support for Windows, and now they can take advantage of native x86 support on Android with minimal extra work. And because x86 code will be executed directly by the processor, app startup times and performance will be markedly improved.
