Marketing firm TrafficCaptain to help push Kamicat Football to more players

iVentureCapital invests in rising social dev Kamicat

iVentureCapital, the Hamburg-based venture capital provider for the games industry, has invested in social game developer Kamicat for an undisclosed sum.

Kamicat is a PC and mobile studio based in Hanover, Germany, and is the creator of Kamicat Football, which launched in 2012.

The game combines live-action football gameplay with manager elements and is currently available in nine languages. Games performance network Traffic Captain will exclusively handle the marketing of Kamicat Football.

“The quality of Kamicat’s top title, Kamicat Football, in particular convinced us to move forward with this new investment. In fact, I am an enthusiastic ‘Kamicat Football’ player myself. It will add top-notch value to our portfolio as well as the Traffic Captain performance network,” said Michael Reul, co-founder and CEO of iVentureCapital.

Kamicat co-founder Christoph Reisner (pictured) added: “Kamicat Football’s staggering growth on Facebook over the past several months is largely due to viral effects. Players spend above-average amounts of time with our game – a combination of football action simulation and management – and recommend it to their friends.

“In future, we can rely on additional support from iVentureCapital to generate traffic and on Traffic Captain’s marketing expertise to move Kamicat Football ahead, and furthermore, to generate advertising revenue.”

A mobile version is planned for release later this year and iVentureCaptial aims increase the game’s user base through it.
