Gamebryo vendor Emergent has signed a significant partnership with publisher THQ.
THQ, which owns development studios such as Relic and Volition, has licensed Gamebryo LightSpeed in what is a multiplatform deal.
The move follows Emergent’s partnership with THQ back in June 2009, when both groups signed a master licensing agreement for the use of Gamebryo and Gamebryo LightSpeed.
LightSpeed is based on the Emergent’s proprietary Gamebryo solution, adding an entity system on top to get developers quickly up to prototyping new ideas. It also features live updates on consoles without recompiling, allowing new content to be dropped in or parameters tweaked with immediate feedback on the target machine itself.
