Multiplayer shooter to be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC later this year

Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock lift lid on new co-op shooter Evolve

Turtle Rock Studios has revealed its new co-op multiplayer title Evolve.

As reported by Game Informer, the title is being developer by the studio behind Valve’s hit zombie title Left 4 Dead. The team also previously worked on Counter-Strike Source for a number of years.

Like Left4Dead, the new sci-fi shooter will feature four player co-op. A fifth player however will also have control of an alien, which gradually evolves throughout the course of each match making it more powerful.

The title is said to include a combination of cooperative and competitive play.

Evolve is expected to be released during Autumn this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Following the demise of THQ and subsequent auction last year, the Evolve IP was sold to Take Two for $10.8 million, despite an attempt by Turtle Rock to also acquire the rights to the title.
