Development tools to support Unreal Engine 4 and Unity

Magic Leap SDK coming soon

Augmented reality start-up Magic Leap will soon release the SDK for its upcoming wearable tech.

Announced Announced during the EmTech Digital Conference, the firm also said the SDK will support Unity and Unreal Engine 4.

A developers section has also gone live on the Magic Leap website where devs can get in contact with the firm for more details. It states that by using the "Dynamic Digitised Lightfield Signal", developers can create images "indistinguishable from real objects and then being able to place those images seamlessly into the real world".

Details on how Magic Leap will work have been thin on the ground. Last year though the start-up raised $542 million in Series B funding for its augmented reality technology. The investment was to be used to accelerate development of the tech, release development tools and take its hardware to market.

The funding round was led by Google, with other investors including Qualcomm, Legendary Entertainment and Vulcan Capital.
