First major game from 22Cans could be the former Lionhead chief's last

Molyneux: I’ll only make one more game

Peter Molyneux’s next major project will be his last, the industry luminary has claimed.

Speaking to Beefjack, the 22Cans boss said the studio’s first full game would be the defining game of his career, and that he would be putting all of his experience and lessons from past mistakes into the title.

Molyneux previously revealed that 22Cans will only make one full game, as well as its planned 22 smaller titles, although he has claimed he is still unsure of the exact form the studio’s major project will take.

“I’m only going to make one more game, I think,” he said.

“And that thought – the thought of every ounce of my energy, every ounce of my experience, every mistake that I’ve made in every single game – if I can learn from that, and use that energy to make one game… that’s what I’m trying to do.

“Could I sit down and describe it to you in full at the moment? No, I can’t. But that is my thought. We’re going to make a game, we’re going to learn what it is to make a game in today’s world, and it’s going to be the defining game of my career.”

22Cans recently released iOS and Android-based app Curiosity: What’s inside the cube?, which tasks users with chipping away at an enormous cube, peeling away numerous layers to eventually reveal a secret to one user that awaits inside.

Molyneux said the studio’s second project will be called Co-Operation, and it could be released, or at least revealed, sometime today.
