More help for developers entering its GameCast Contest ahead of July 10th rough draft submission deadline

MoMinis to host three educational webinars

The MoMinis Studio is a free development engine pitched at developers in the Flash, PC and mobile sectors.

Its GameCast competition, which has been launched in tandem with ME and GetJar, will offer $15,000 in total prizes plus a distribution deal for the winner.

As the deadline draws closer, MoMinis has arranged three webinars to address the issue of fragmentation, which forces developers to make many versions of a game for various platforms and devices.

The first of its three webinars comprises an Intro to The MoMinis Studio. It takes place tomorrow at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT. Click here for details.

This tutorial will cover the ins and outs of the game engine, explaining concepts and giving helpful tips and tricks, among other fundamental uses that developers should know when starting out with The MoMinis Studio.

The second webinar is on Intermediate Level Training on The MoMinis Studio. This takes place on Wednesday, June 29th form 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT. More details here.

During this session, Eyal Rabinovich, co-founder of MoMinis and co-creator of The MoMinis Studio will be demonstrating tips and tricks and best practices for the creation of various genres of mobile games, and lesson learned from the development of games that have been created with The MoMinis Studio.

The last webinar is on Creating Graphics for Mobile Games, and takes place on Thursday June 30th at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT. Details here.

In this session Iris Weissman, senior graphic designer at MoMinis, will be leading a webinar about how to work with graphics for mobile games.

She will cover many aspects of graphic design for mobile games including optimisation, usage of transparency, popular genres of graphics in mobile and backgrounds.

There’s not too much time remaining for developers wishing to enter the GameCast competition.

All rough draft submissions can be sent in video format to by July 10th.

The final submission should show the completed game and the deadline for this is August 25th.
