Old and new clash: Puzzle Quest designer and Ralph H. Baer to speak

More GDC sessions detailed

GDC executive director Jamil Moledina has revealed more GDC08 sessions on his Directors Cut blog.

Visionary inventor Ralph H. Baer will present a postmortem of the Brown Box, often claimed to be the first ever home videogame, talking of what went right and wrong while engineering and designing their vision of interactive gaming.

Steve Fawkner, CEO and lead designer of Infinite Interactive, will be holding a talk called ‘Conquering Bane’s Citadel: The Collision of Casual and Hardcore Gaming in Puzzle Quest’, in which he’ll discuss the process of mixing hardcore RPG elements with classic colour-matching gameplay to create the highly praised Puzzle Quest.

GDC08 takes place from February 18th to 22nd at the Moscone Center, San Francisco. For info in attending and registration, click here.
