Casual games company snaps up Russian studio

MumboJumbo acquires Hot Lava

Casual games publisher/developer MumboJumbo has acquired Russian studio Hot Lava.

In the casual games space Hot Lava is best known for its work on the 7 Wonders series of games, publishedby MumbJumbo.

As part of the acquisition Hot Lava CEO Matt Lichtenwalter will be come MumboJumbo’s VP of product development.

"MumboJumbo stands firmly behind its commitment of bringing high-quality casual game content, across multiple platforms, to the mass market through both its digital and retail distribution channels," said Ron Dimant, founder of MumboJumbo. "Matt has an in-depth understanding of the development process and we are proud to bring on board the fresh and creative talent that both he and his team have to offer. We feel that this move further supports MumboJumbo’s position as a leader in premium casual games."
