nDreams, the studio set up by former SCi man Patrick O’Luanaigh, has appointed GameShadow CEO Nicholas Lovell as a non-executive director.
Lovell will support the company drawing on his experience in the games industry – as well as GameShadow he previously provided financial and strategy advice as MD of Lodestar Partners from 2003 to 2006. He was also previously CFO of ShopSmar and spent eight years at Deutsche Bank, both in equity research and corporate finance.
Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO of nDreams said: "After nine months of focused development, we’re ready to move to the next stage of our ambitious plans for nDreams. We believe that Nicholas will help us achieve these goals, and having someone of his stature and experience as part of our management team is a very positive step for the company."
Nicholas Lovell added: "Patrick set up nDreams with a vision of producing engaging interactive stories that will redefine the perception of “casual games” and broaden the market to attract more female gamers. I have no doubt that he will succeed and I am immensely excited to be part of the future of nDreams."
Meanwhile, the studio has confirmed it has three games in the works, all part of the company’s casual games effort – they are Venus Redemption, a female-focused casual adventure, an unannounced ‘parody game’ and an online-story related project.
The company is currently an approved Xbox 360 developer and also plans to release Venus Redemption for DS and Wii.
