Mobile studio garners 5m downloads on iOS and Android in just two months

Neon Play accrues 40m downloads in two years

UK mobile developer Neon Play has surpassed more than 40m downloads of its apps in just two years.

The Cirencester-based studio was launched in 2010, and quickly garnered more than 20 million downloads in its first year, and has kept that pace since, gaining five million in the last two months alone.

Games from the developer include Paper Glider, Flick Football and Traffic Panic, with 14 of its title’s reaching more than one million downloads on iOS and Android.

“Only two months ago we were celebrating our second birthday at our Old Museum studio in Cirencester with the announcement that we had reached 35 million downloads,” said Neon Play CEO Oli Christie.

“But the release of Traffic Panic London at the end of June has really boosted our tally and we’re chuffed to be able to say that we’ve now reached the 40 million download milestone.”

“I recently wrote that getting a number one in the app store is now virtually impossible due to the big developers using their financial clout to occupy the app charts, however we’ve recently had number one hits with Bravo Force: Last Stand and Ben 10 Alien Escape. Next up: the big 5-0.”
