Document outlines roles, payment rates and employment methods

New video games guidelines for GB writers’ guild

The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain has published a new version of its video games guidelines.

The trade representatives say the new document was prepared after consultation with a large number of writers and developers in the industry.

The guidelines detail a writer’s potential role when working for a studio, typical payment rates, royalties, and employment methods.

The guild said the guidelines are there to “empower” workers and “promote fair, productive working relationships between the industry and employees.”

Established in 1959, the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain was formed to represent writers working in various industries such as television, radio and film.
