Second round of funding distributed between seven Nordic studios

Nordic Game Program awards DDK 3m grants

The Nordic Game Program has awarded seven qualifying studios a share of DDK 3m (£350,000) in the second round of its annual industry financial grants.

The awards were given at a ceremony in Malmo, Sweden last night.

228 studios entered titles into the 2010 funding contest, surpassing the expectations of its organisers by quite some way.

While this level competition is undoubtedly sign of a healthy industry, the fund will be discontinued in 2011, cutting of a vital lifeline that may well leave smaller Nordic studios floundering in years to come.
