OpenFeint CEO Jason Citron resigns

The co-founder and CEO of mobile gaming network firm OpenFeint Jason Citron has resigned, the company has confirmed.

Citron’s departure – made months after OpenFeint was acquired by Japanese firm Gree – was not explained.

A company statement said he was ‘pursing new opportunities’, 

Gree International CEO Naoki Aoyagi has been installed as Citron’s replacement.

“I thank Jason for his leadership growing the company and wish him well in his new adventures,” said Aoyagi.

“I’m excited to lead OpenFeint through its next phase of growth.”

The Tokyo based social gaming platform provider acquired OpenFeint in April this year in a $104 million deal.

Since the takeover Gree has said it has expanded its global reach to “over 100 million users.”

The two firms have also revealed they plan to announce integration plans between their U.S. operations over the next few weeks.
