App developer sees 125 per cent growth in five months

Outfit7 hits 225 million Talking Friends downloads

Mobile studio Outfit7 has had its Talking Friends apps downloaded by more than 225 million users, the company has announced.

In May the developer revealed that it had achieved 100 million downloads, which means the Talking Tom creator has seen an impressive 125 per cent growth in sales in just five months, which it claims is a record in the app space.

The studio also said that the network’s monthly active users for its iOS and Android apps have nearly tripled since the beginning of 2011 to more than 60 million.

"The appeal of the Talking Friends characters is truly universal with literally millions of characters coming alive in one hundred plus countries every day," said Outfit7 exec Narry Singh.

“We’ve built a distribution platform, with real-time intelligence and tremendously powerful marketing vehicles that is the beginning of a true global mobile entertainment network."

The app developer also claims it averages over 20 million downloads per month, with more than 500,000 videos being uploaded monthly to YouTube, Facebook and sent via email and MMS.

Outfit7’s first app, Talking Tom Cat, was released in July 2010, followed by similar games such as Gina the Giraffe and Ben.
