Scottish developer welcomes former AOL and EA staff as board members, and launches duo of new games

Outplay: New board members and new releases

Dundee studio Outplay Entertainment has welcomed two tech-industry veterans to its board, at the same time releasing a pair of games that are it’s first titles.

The former president of AOL Europe, Karen Thomson, has joined the Outplay board as non-executive chair, while Randy Breen, previously an Electronic Arts and LucasArts Executive, has assumed a place on the oard as Non-Executive Director.

The two new games are Facebook titles; Word Trick and Booty Quest.

Outplay Entertainment was founded in 2011 by brothers Douglas and Richard Hare, who previously estabslished The Collective, which in its time made a number of triple-A titles including Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine – The Fallen.

"I chose to join the Outplay board because I believe Douglas and Richard have the vision, passion, drive and experience to create huge business opportunities as well as fantastic entertainment properties," explained Thomson. "I am delighted to be involved with such a forward thinking company and look forward to working with Outplay to create rich gaming experiences that bridge the gap between mobile and online platforms."
