The hackable console has 466 games as it gears up for European launch

Ouya boasts 25,000 developers

The Ouya Microconsole now has over 25,000 registered developers, the company has announced.

The Kickstarter Android console launched in the US and UK four months ago, and already has 466 games available on its store page.

The console has faced its share of drama in its short history: some backers didn’t receive their consoles on time, took criticism for having fairly low conversion rates, and a $1 million fund designed to attract exclusives by offering matching funds to Kickstarter campaigns turned into a PR fiasco when a number of projects involved in the scheme were accused of fraud.

Hopefully the worst is over, and now Ouya is gearing up for its European launch later this month.

Though Ouya says there are 25,000 developers registered for the console, it’s unknown just how many of these are active; the microconsole is its own devkit, so anyone who owns the Ouya is potentially a developer.
