PopCap exec Giordano Contestabile has quit the casual game developer to join digital publisher Tilting Point.
Contestabile takes up the role of VP of product management and revenue, and will oversee the company’s team working with development partners to build a portfolio of mobile games as well as advising on monetisation, retention, engagement and user acquisition strategies.
The appointment comes as Tilting Pointing is investing $40 million over the next three years to fund the development and marketing of mobile and tablet games.
“We are thrilled that Giordano shares our philosophy that the future of video games belongs to the top independent developers,” said Tilting Point executive chairman Tom Frisina.
“His experience and talents will strengthen our partnerships as we redefine what people expect from a digital publisher.”
During his five years at PopCap, Contestabile worked as executive producer on the Bejeweled series, as well as previously managing the company’s mobile gaming business.
