PSPgo to enter the 59p games space?

We’re used to stories of when it comes to App Store pricing, but if the latest talk is to be believed one of Apple’s main handheld rivals is planning a direct assault on its low-cost portable gaming model.

Pocket Gamer reports that alongside its high-profile PS3 Slim unveiling at next week’s Gamescom expo in Germany, Sony will also announce plans to price the download-only PSP titles for the upcoming PSPgo at just €1, €2 an €5 – instantly positioning them against Apple’s own software offerings on iTunes.

It’s unlikely that full retail games that have previously been released on UMD will be priced so low (though that is what Pocket Gamer seems to be suggesting).
