End of the line for Derby office as Oxford HQ is hit by layoffs

Rebellion confirms cuts and studio closure

UK studio Rebellion has confirmed job cuts at its Oxford base, adding that its Derby studio is now closing.

Back in January the company’s Derby studio entered a consultation process whereby staff were interviewed and formally warned they may face redundancy.

CEO Jason Kingsley explained late in February that no-one has stepped up to buy the Derby outfit as a going concern.

Last week a source told Develop that the offices have now closed, adding that nearly twenty staff have been cut from Rebellion’s Oxford studio.

Today a Rebellion spokesperson confirmed to Develop that the Derby studio is closing. The representative didn’t specify the number of cuts at the Oxford studio, though said a few staff in junior positions had been let go.
