Philip and Tobias Reisberger have left publishing giant Bigpoint to focus on their own projects.
The brothers, who were both managing directors at the company, played a huge role in building Bigpoint into one of the leading publishers in the online space during their for years at the firm, with the studio now employing almost 1,000 employees.
As well as working as MDs at the company, the brothers have also both worked as chief games officer and chief revenue office at the firm.
Revealing the news through informing their LinkedIn contacts, Philip and Tobias said they will now be working at a new mobile games company, AppFlag, as well as a new venture into consulting on business analytics in the free-to-play market.
“After more than four years my brother and I have decided to leave Bigpoint and focus on our own projects,” said Philip Reisberger.
“During that time we’ve been fortunate to be a major part in building Bigpoint into a company with now nearly 1.000 employees, various hits and multiple target groups. Among the different positions I held, I enjoyed most heading the production unit for 2 years (500+ ppl)”
He added: “Tobias and I are parting Bigpoint with very good memories of a superb company that we helped to shape.
"And of course we are still on very good terms with Heiko and the core team of Bigpoint. The date of our ‘departure’ will be mid August after the GDC/ GamesCom in Cologne.”
