Job losses will 'affect most business groups' and continue into 2015

Report: Warner Bros braces for company-wide layoffs

Warner Bros is set to layoff a number of employees across the company this week, according to a report.

Game Informer cited a memo to staff from the firm’s CEO Kevin Tsujihara that mentioned restructuring was imminent. Further job losses are also expected through the first few months of 2015.

According to Variety, as many as 1,000 jobs could be cut globally. Though redundancies are expected across the business, it is not currently clear if or how its games operations will be affected.

“These are difficult decisions, and we don’t take them lightly,” said Tsujihara in a memo.

“We examined every aspect of our businesses to ensure that we were restructuring in a way that would allow us to minimise the impact on our employees, while continuing to adapt to the changing global marketplace.”

The news follows layoffs at Warner Bros Interactive-owned developer Turbine in February and again in October.
