Investment-rich group believes it can afford four simultaneous third-party projects

Rift publisher Trion seeks studio partnerships

Trion Worlds has added new management to help broker development deals with external studios, the company has said.

The young publisher, which has received more than $70 million in various investment rounds, said it wants to sign with several external studios.

Experienced industry executive David Luehmann has been hired to head up third-party business.

“With me here, we’re building up an organisation that can handle two, three or four more of these third-party titles under development,” he told Venturebeat.

“We have an organisation that can bring those games to market,” he added.

The Californian company is keeping an open-mind to what projects it will sign, Luehmann said.

“It’s contingent on whether the right game is out there, that meets the quality bars out there.”

In April 2009, Trion announced its agreement to publish a new IP from Petroglyph. The game, an online real time strategy title called End of Nations, is due for release later this year.
