NCsoft North America president Robert Garriott has been promoted to a new global business development role.

Brother of NCsoft MMO designer Richard Garriott, he will work closely with Korea-based NCsoft’s CEO Taek Jin Kim and remain working from the firm’s Austin, Texas office.

Kim commented: "We’re extremely pleased with Robert’s plans to become more involved with our global business development. The future for NCsoft is very bright and his leadership in this area will be a huge step forward for the company."

Meanwhile Chris Chung, former VP for worldwide product development, takes over Garriott’s old post. Chung previously managed NCsoft’s internal studio ArenaNet and was also chief publishing officer for NCsoft at its Seoul HQ.
