New investment is being poured into Ready At Dawn’s new engine business, with the studio appointing former Scaleform sales exec Jonathan Nagel to head up a revised sales team.
The Californian God of War: Chains of Olympus studio recently made its in-house game engine available to license, with company president Didier Malenfant openly criticising the state of the engine market.
“We are building something for developers who are tired of the challenges of PC engines shoe-horned into consoles, or trying to stitch together layers upon layers of middleware from multiple vendors,” he said in October.
Nagel’s appointment will see him offer interested parties a tailored evaluation of project needs, as well as straightforward licensing models and – the studio says – first-class support.
"We’re excited to add someone of Jonathan’s caliber to our licensing team," says studio president Didier Malenfant.
"He brings with him a wealth of experience in the middleware licensing field and this further re-affirms our commitment to the engine licensing business as a priority for Ready At Dawn Studios.”
