Sega appoints Cory Haynes to lead US

Sega Entertainment USA – the North American amusement facilities arm of the global publisher – has appointed veteran industry executive Cory Haynes as the group’s new COO and president.

Prior to his new role at Sega, Haynes held the position as Vice President of Amusement/Midway Operations for Dave and Buster’s. He will officially begin work on April 22.

As Sega welcomed Haynes to the team, the group praised his 26 years of experience in the location-based amusement and gaming industry.

“Mr. Haynes’ illustrious experience in the amusement industry will bring additional insight and direction in the constantly changing landscape that our business is currently experiencing,” said Tatsuyuki Miyazaki, CEO of Sega US.

“With more competition comes more challenges; at this time experience and energetic leadership are indispensable assets to have within our company,” Miyazaki added.

Haynes himself said the industry as a whole is experiencing unprecedented challenges in today’s economic climate. “I aim to bring experienced strategic planning and decisive manoeuvring to Sega Entertainment US so that we can enjoy continued future growth,” he said.
