600,000 copies sold across Steam and PlayStation Store

Supergiant: Transistor selling faster than Bastion

Acclaimed studio Supergiant games has revealed that it’s latest release, Transistor, is racking up downloads quicker than its predecessor.

The studio behind the oft-praised Bastion posted on its blog, adding that Transistor also picked up more than 70 industry awards in 2014.

"We were very happy to see Transistor selling even faster relative to Bastion during the first couple of months after its launch," the studio’s Greg Kasavin wrote.

"With the new year upon us, we checked our spreadsheets, rubbed our eyes, checked our spreadsheets again and can now report that, thus far, Transistor has sold well over 600,000 copies between Steam and the PlayStation Store.

"Word-of-mouth is what kept Bastion going for way, way longer than we could have imagined, and it’s what kept Transistor going strong too."

Kasavin added that Bastion has sold more than 3m copies to date, most of which were on Xbox 360 and PC – ports that were released months after the original launch.
