Sequel racks up 210 million sessions and more than 1,775 years of gameplay

Temple Run 2 rushes to 20 million downloads

Temple Run 2 has been downloaded more than 20 million times after just four days of release.

Developed by Imangi Studios, the app rushed to the top of the free App charts on iOS in just eight hours, and also hit number three in the Top Grossing chart.

The title is currently positioned at 9th in the Top Grossing chart at the time of writing, usurped by titles such as Minecraft – Pocket Edition, Hay Day and Candy Crush Saga.

In its first week on sale, Temple Run 2 racked up 210 million sessions and 1,775 years of gameplay.

“The response from fans has been overwhelming,” said Imangi co-founder Keith Shepherd.

“We are thrilled players want more of the Temple Run universe, and we hope to grow and expand the game over the coming months.”

The sequel follows on from the original Temple Run’s huge success on mobile, which has now garnered 170 million downloads across the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Marketplace.

Temple Run 2 is set to be released on Android later this week.
