Merry Christmas and a happy new year from everyone at Develop!

That’s all from us – see you in 2017

It’s been a crazy two and a half months since the new Develop team was put in place. We’ve shipped two magazines, which we hope you’ve enjoyed, but we’re only just getting started. Our first issue for 2017 will be the GDC special (yes, already!), and we’re planning some surprises to really tie the mag into the event out in San Francisco. Hopefully we’ll see many of you out there in late February.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. 2017 hasn’t even begun yet and we have a week of jubilant relaxation (or relaxed jubilation, depending on your remaining energy levels) to look forward to. Which means we’re signing off for the year.

We’ll be back on January 3rd, ready to cover all the new developments in the world of game creation. Not least of these will be Nintendo’s big unveiling of the Switch on January 13th. A new console for a new year.

On top of that, there are a few other exciting games coming next year. Mass Effect: Andromeda, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon: Zero Dawn, to name just a few. We’re also eager to see how Ubisoft has taken advantage of the extra year of dev time for the next Assassin’s Creed game…

Sure, 2016 has been pretty horrid in a lot of respects, but it has been a fantastic year for games. Here’s hoping we see improvements in all areas over the next twelve months.

Have a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year. We’ll see you in 2017!
