In Develop’s latest tutorial, theater and game voice director Kate Saxon offers a detailed selection of advice on creating and capturing better dialogue.
Saxon, who has worked for over ten years in theater and for four years with games, has a long list of credits that includes Dragon Quest VIII, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Fable II. In her audio tutorial Saxon offers 10 essential tips on voice direction.
"When directing for game projects, I focus on the core of the storytelling itself by helping actors understand the story to be told, the producers’ and writers’ intentions, and their audience," explained Saxon. "They can then give the most appropriate, best and (dare I say) ‘inspired’ performances."
