Sixth annual award show comes to Unite 2013 in Vancouver on August 29th

Unity Awards nominations open

Nominations for the Unity Awards have now been opened by the popular game engine provider.

This is the sixth annual awards show, launched in 2008 by Unity as a way to raise awareness about the game engine by rewarding those who made the best use of it.

The 2013 show will be held on August 29th at the Unite conference in Vancouver, Canada.

“When we began creating Unity so many years ago, we had high hopes, but seeing the continuous and shockingly rapid improvement of the interactive games and experiences made with Unity is mind-blowing,” said Unity CEO David Helgason.

“Having the chance to recognise these projects and the talented men and women that so passionately create them is one of the best parts of our year. These individuals and organisations are what drive the technology forward and help us strive to make our technology more powerful and more complete.”

Award categories for this year’s show include: best 3D visual experience, best 2D visual experience, best technical achievement, best gameplay, best student project, best vizSim project, best non-game project, and the community choice award.

Nominations will close on June 30th.
