Microsoft Games Studios vet Tony Garcia joins growing engine firm

Unity lands new biz dev director

Unity Technologies has scored Tony Garcia as its new director of business development.

Garcia has been in the games industry for over 20 years, having held positions at Microsoft Games Studios, Electronic Arts, and LucasArts. He’ll be based in Seattle and San Francisco, from where he’ll direct the engine’s growth throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing company," said Garcia. "Unity Technologies is on the cusp of dramatically changing the face of game development forever. Up the revolution!”

David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies added: “Unity is seeing increasing use in larger web-based games and MMOs. With Tony on-board we can increase our share of that business which is one of the major growth areas for the next few years.”
