PS3 and PS4 game creators now have access to engine at no cost

Unity Pro free for all PlayStation developers

Unity has made its popular Unity Pro game engine free for all licensed PlayStation developers.

To take advantage, the company suggested contacting your PlayStation representative. Unity is already free for ID@Xbox developers on Xbox One, as well as licensed Wii U devs.

Unity currently supports PS3, PS4 and PS Mobile platforms.

Ganes set to come to PlayStation platforms using the Unity engine include Assault Android Cactus, Night in the Woords, Shiftlings and BroForce.

"This is another amazing display by SCE of how much they welcome developers, no matter their size and pedigree," said Unity CEO David Helgason.

"Some of the most exciting games are coming from smaller teams who in the past would have been hard pressed to get on so many awesome platforms."
