D3P studio's Vicious Engine provided to South Asian developers

Vicious Cycle and SCEE team up on India

Vicious Cycle and SCEE have partnered to bring the Vicious Engine to Indian developers.

The scheme aims to promote PlayStation 2 and PSP development in the region by providing the engine – used on games such as Dead Head Fred and the PSP and PS2 versions of Puzzle Quest – to South Asian developers to accelerate the adoption rates of both consoles.

“We looked for an all-inclusive game engine that provided flexibility and a rapid development cycle,” said Jim Ryan, COO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

“The Vicious Engine is both intuitive and easy-to-use, an excellent choice for our program in India.”

Eric Peterson, president and CEO of Vicious Cycle Software, added: “Working with up-and-coming developers has always been part of our long-term strategy. This is an historic program, and we are looking forward to all the amazing titles Indian developers will create using our engine.”
