UK specialist Realtime UK has teamed up with Hi-Rez Studios to create a new trailer for its increasingly popular MOBA, Smite.
Entitled ‘Smite: Battleground of the Gods’, the three-minute trailer – which you can view below – shows various deities duking it out just as players do in the game. Smite is published by Chinese games giant Tencent.
The gods depicted are from a variety of cultures, with Realtime saying each was carefully selected to appeal to a global audience in keeping with that of the free-to-play title.
The trailer was created as a prelude for this weekend’s Smite World Championships, which will be held in Georgia, USA. The tournament will offer a prize pot of $2.5m – the third biggest for such an event, and more than the League of Legends world finals.
"Our team worked very closely with developers Hi-Rez to deliver something really impactful that would engage with the game’s fast-growing community," says Realtime account director Dave Cullinane.
"This has been an excellent opportunity to highlight our studio’s capability and we look forward to revealing more of the work we’ve been creating for a wide range of projects throughout the rest of 2015 as our studio continues to grow."
