Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail to skip NGDC 2013

Rami Ismail, one half of indie developer Vlambeer, will not be attending NASSCOM Game Developer Conference 2013.

Ismail recently underwent surgery and has been advised against long-distance travel by his doctors. His talk, titled ‘Indie marketing strategy’, was scheduled for day two of NGDC.

I would like to super apologize to the fine folks in Pune, India. My doctor insisted that such a flight is not a good idea post-surgery,” Ismail posted on Twitter.

He did add, however, that he was working with NASSCOM to explore the possibility of delivering his talk remotely. Paolo Pedercini will deliver his keynote via video after he failed to get a visa on time to make the trip to India.

The organization of NASSCOM GDC was super professional and to cancel this late just makes me feel like a terrible person. So sorry,” Ismail said, adding, I’ve cancelled all public events in November, except for those in the Netherlands. Doctor does say things look good for December.”

NASSCOM Game Developer Conference 2013 takes place on 15th and 16th November in Pune. You can find everything you need to know about this year’s event here. Keep an eye on our NGDC 2013 page for all news and updates related to the event.
