New US conference set up to explore stereoscopic games

3D Gaming event set for April

Organisers of the US conference 3D Entertainment Summit have announced plans for a games specific-event in April 2010.

Running on April 21st and 22nd at the Hilton Universal City in LA, the event plans to "attract the brightest minds in the gaming industry to define the market opportunity for 3D stereoscopic gaming and entertainment".

The organisers describe the event – the first solely dedicated to 3D games – is a key networking event for the ‘next biggest thing in gaming’.

The event is run by Bob Dowling, who was responsible for the 3D Entertainment Summit which has run in LA for the last two years.

“It is clear games have driven entertainment for the last many decades. Interactive entertainment is both more challenging and more satisfying. The advent of stereoscopic 3D only amplifies the intensity and immersion in the actual experience,“ said Dowling, who is also chair of the gaming event.

“When stereoscopic 3D is in the consumer’s home through 3D enabled television the game industry will again take a significant leap forward.”

The conference is also calling for speakers. More information can be found at the official site.
