Achieving true game immersion with face-tracking controls in Unity

Face it: controllers and in-game characters are an abstraction and can be a barrier between the player and a deeply immersive experience.

Perhaps that’s why game developer Cyrus Lum created Mystery Mansion, a hidden-object adventure game that’s controlled entirely with facial movements. Move your head sideways to look around, and forwards to zoom in. Can you, as the ghost, uncover the mystery of your death?

The game uses the Intel RealSense SDK, which is available for free download, and an Intel RealSense 3D camera, together with Unity.
