Flash vendor Adobe will make sweeping cuts across its western workforce as it refocuses business operations.
An estimated 750 workers, predominantly based across Europe and the US, are expected to go.
The redundancy operation is expected to be enforced next year and help Adobe allocate more resources to digital media and digital marketing.
Adobe has not explained which areas of its business will be trimmed as a result, but it is expected to pour more resources into web programming. The company recently unveiled a HTML5 editor for web developers who are less enthused by the ubiquitous Flash player.
Shares in the company fell in extended trading following the announcement.
