Amazon is working on its own Android console for release on or around Black Friday, claim sources.
The company has been in hardware manufacturing for a while, with both the Kindle e-reader and the Kindle Fire tablet on shelves, and Amazon even has its own Android app store.
According to Game Informer, people with “knowledge of the in-development hardware” claim that Amazon will be taking advantage of titles already available through this platform to release its own game console with a dedicated controller.
An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment, saying the company doesn't comment on rumors or speculation.
Amazon isn't the only company rumored to be entering the micro-console arena.
Sources have reported that both Apple and Google are working on their own living-room systems, and Samsung has already unveiled a controller for the Galaxy S4 that can double as a console.
