Weekly updates to the best selling iPhone and iPad games

Apple launches digital games chart

Apple UK has today started publishing weekly charts detailing the most popular apps on its iOS platforms.

It is producing four weekly charts: iPhone paid apps, iPhone free apps, iPad paid apps and iPad free apps.

Each chart is a top ten, published every Wednesday – it names the app and its publisher (which can either be the original developer or its publisher, depending on who has the direct relationship with Apple).

Although the charts are for all apps, games feature heavily in each due to their popularity and cost on these platforms.

Apple is still publishing the up to the minute region and genre charts in iTunes.
